I started my journey into the digital world in my first internship at the Museum of Northern Arizona. As an undergraduate intern, I researched for and wrote their first Social Media Plan. I went on to cut my teeth further at the National Galleries of Scotland as the Digital Media Intern, researching for and creating content for their website as well as conducting and analysing user research on their app.
From there I moved to Leeds College of Art, where I worked in the Students’ Union, focusing on the website, design, communications and marketing. In my final year, I led and designed the Union’s rename and rebrand when the College was awarded University status and became Leeds Arts University.
Along the way I worked on many projects, including writing and producing a social history podcast called Northern, as well as taking on branding, lettering, website and various other design and digital projects for clients and friends. In 2019 I left full time employment and began freelancing, I also founded Laikin Studio that year, a true labour of love.

I work from my home studio in Sheffield next to my UX Designer husband who is a [mostly] welcomed feedback giver extraordinaire. I take on projects in web design and development, brand design, marketing, digital strategy, digital content and more. I mostly work in the UK, though I also work with clients internationally, in particular in the US.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me out in the Peak District with my family, taking far too long to knit something or searching for the best latte and cinnamon roll with my toddler.
Northern Podcast was a podcast I wrote, produced and edited exploring history and stories from the North of England.
